Dopo la pubblicazione in digitale, lo scorso anno, di 'Superheroes', il terzo album di Jamie Irrepressible, sotto la veste creativaThe Irrepressibles, l'artista, compositore e produttore con base a Manchester annuncia la pubblicazione in vinile limited edition dell'acclamato album, in arrivo il 5 novembre, arricchito da rivisitazioni e remix in chiave elettronica.
Conosciuto per brani seminali tra cui 'In This Shirt' e 'Two Men In Love', audace leader del movimento LGBTQ, ottimo esempio di Chamber Pop, Jamie Irrepressible, in 'Superheroes', riflette sonoramente i movimenti elettronici e jazz che hanno segnato la sua permanenza a Berlino, tra mascolinità, salute mentale ed un profondo amore omosessuale.
Dopo numerose collaborazioni con artisti noti nel panorama musicale dell'elettronica, tra cui Royksopp ('The Inevitable End', loro disco del 2014 in cui Jamie compare in cinque tracce ) e iamamiwhoami (in 'Nude'), Jamie Irrepressible ha portato il suo progetto nel mondo dell'electro-pop con il terzo album, 'Superheroes'.
La svolta elettronica è stata ampiamente accolta dai media musicali.
Il 2020 ha visto anche il brano 'In This Shirt' diventare virale su TikTok e nella Spotify Viral Charts in ben 49 paesi in tutto il mondo, raggiungendo una nuova fan base di utenti di giovane età, tuttora in forte espansione, che mostra la rilevanza di The Irrepressibles nella scena musicale di oggi.
E' in arrivo il 5 novembre la pubblicazione in vinile di 'Superheroes', in una speciale edizione che contiene, oltre al disco completo, i singoli 'Let Go', 'Dominance', 'Submission', 'The Most Beautiful Boy' ed una serie di bonus track tra i famosi remix di 'The Most Beautiful Boy' a cura di Felsmann + Tiley, la rivisitazione di 'Let Go' da parte di Tinlicker ed una nuova reissue di 'Calling For Change', brano del 2019.
Nel mentre, The Irrepressibles si stanno preparando per tornare sui palchi di tutto il mondo con un nuovo spettacolo audiovisivo che supporterà la forte band composta da sette ottimi polistrumentisti che, tra sintetizzatori, archi ed ottoni, accompagnano la 'voce che gratta il cielo' di Jamie.

THE PAST
The Irrepressibles is the creative guise of composer-vocalist-songwriter-
Originating from the baron moors and victorian seaside town of Scarborough, North Yorkshire, and born to working-class beginnings, Jamie began hearing music in his head as a boy which he composed initially on keyboards or for the school orchestra. As a teen he played in various grunge rock bands either on guitar or vocals. On discovering his sexuality, and being bullied for it, he focused on creating a music that would express the uniqueness of homosexual love in a way that would inspire connection - becoming an activist through music - eventually forming The Irrepressibles in 2002 whilst studying music at University.
His debut Irrepressibles album 'Mirror Mirror (2010)’ - a fusion of baroque, grunge, exotica, and honest songwriting - was at the vanguard of the recent chamber-pop movement. Track 'In This Shirt' went viral with Art-House video by director Roy Raz. The track was also remixed by Royksopp and Hercules & Love Affair.
NUDE, released in 2012, was a bold, honest LGBT record with imagery and music videos to boot. It challenged pop music norms, and though the albums boldness lost him his record deal, the zeitgeist followed. History showed they were ahead of a movement and since then the albums have boomed in popularity.
In 2012, Jamie collaborated with Hotel Pro Forma and the Latvian Radio Choir on multimedia opera WAR SUM UP. Jamie composed the music for WAR SUM UP, which toured extensively worldwide, receiving acclaim from Danish outlet Gaffa, as well as The New York Times.
In 2014 Royksopp released their album The Inevitable End which featured Jamie Irrepressible on 5 of the tracks including collaborations on the tracks ‘Something in My Heart’ (2013) and ‘Compulsion’ and the singles ‘I Had This Thing’ and ‘Here She Comes Again’ which recently passed 26 million plays on Spotify. Jamie toured with Royksopp as co-lead singer with Ionnalee of Swedish electronica band iamamiwhoami performing arenas across Scandinavia, the Baltics, and Europe with the album through 2015 and 2016.
In 2016 Jamie produced American gay singer songwriter Jon Campbell’s debut release “About A Boy” including penning string, brass and percussion arrangements for the EP.
In 2020 The Irrepressibles track In This Shirt went viral on Tik Tok and a new younger audience discovered Jamie’s music with the gay love song now reaching over 70 million plays on Spotify.
After a period living in Berlin 3rd album Superheroes saw Jamie Irrepressible steer his project into Electronica. See the Superheroes press release for more info.
